We no longer import rugs from China. The world moves on, and so do China's export needs. China's market forces pursue the most efficient and cost-effective productions and now favour technologies rather than traditional crafts, which are slow to produce and costly to export due to their relatively low value.

We still see the small production of Aubusson pieces, which take the French design and cost-effectively weave pieces. Sadly, these are becoming more difficult to find and represent a tiny part of the rug market.
