Ersari Rugs

The Ersari rugs and carpets are made by the Turkoman tribes that have settled in northwest Afghanistan near Mazar-i-Sharif and the border of Uzbekistan. These rugs are traditional, often using a repeating gul or ‘elephant foot’ design. The lovely, rich, warm hues are created from the root of the madder plant, which grows wild in that part of the world. These practical and hardwearing rugs are made from handspun vegetable-dyed wool, bringing richness and practicality to your room.
